Hints & Tips.
If you have any problems or concern with the way your system is running we strongly recommend that you contact our Service & Maintenance Department. However, if the problem occurs outside of normal office hours we suggest you try looking at the hints below.

For Evaporative air conditioners

Q. My evaporative cooler is leaking, what do I do?

A. Firstly find your water supply tap (normally located 1800 mm off the ground near your hot water system) and turn it off.

Q. My unit has suddenly stopped, why?

A. There are several possible reasons for this:-

  1. Check your home's switchboard and see if the breaker has tripped. If yes, reset it and refer to the owners manual to reset system. If operated via a remote unit, refer to owners manual to resetting of code.

  2. Check the batteries in the remote unit to see if they have become dislodged, have expired or been misplaced.
Q. One room has no air whilst every other room has, why?

A. Check through manhole (only do this if you are happy to do so as Needham Airconditioning cannot be held liable for any injury or damage to either person or property). The ducting to that room may have come away from a join. If so reconnect it by feeding the ducting into the other in the direction of the air flow. Alternatively, if there is a blockage, dislodge it.

Q. My unit seems to be dripping lots of water whilst running, why?

A. Adjust bleed off. Please note that there is no need to turn the unit off. Bleed rates vary, depending upon the quality of the water where you live.

If the unit is dripping after more than two hours of being turned off, turn off the isolator tap until you wish to use the unit again. When you want to use the unit again turn the tap back on. Then call the Service & Maintenance department.

For Refrigerated systems

Q. My unit has stopped suddenly, why?

A. Check the switchboard at the front of your home and check the breaker. If it is tripped - reset it. Turn the isolating switch, located adjacent to the outdoor unit, off and then on again. Then return to the touch pad controller and turn the unit back on and reset the controls to desired settings.

If unit operates okay, let it run. If unit doesn't restart call Service & Maintenance Department. The probable cause is power fluctuation or some interruption to power supply.

Q. Air is not being supplied to one zone, why?

A. Probable cause is faulty damper motor. Contact Service & Department.

Q. The unit is leaking onto the ceiling, what do I do?

A. Find the condensate drain (next to the condenser) and see if water is dripping out. If not, try and clear the blockage in the pipe. If tricky, call Service & Maintenance Division.
